You know the old saying/question..."Do you see the glass of water as half full or empty?". I never gave it much thought until several weeks ago.
I have a pretty well off father and is fortunate to be in the position I am. However I often see myself saying stuff like "Man, that kid is only 17 and is rolling in a new M3!" or "Man, that dude hasn't even hit his mid 20's yet and is already making cake!". This would be the 'seeing glass of water as half empty' part in my eyes.
We rarely look at how fortunate we are, as corny as that sounds. I was at the gym the other day and there was this blind guy working out. I was dumbfound when I saw this. He was working out...like everyone else! I have no idea how he's able to remember the settings on the weights and seats and such. Call me weak or whatever, but I don't know how I would react/do if I were handicapped..be it mentally, or physically. Of course, this would be 'seeing the glass of water as half full".
The point here?....be appreciative of what you have. Yes, easier said than done, but try!
